ARCHITECTURE STUDIO
The residence is an intricate approach of design and function that found its inception in the client’s passion to create a home at his village. The client’s mandate was to maintain all spaces remain interconnected . The project is conceptualized as an inward-looking house where the plan opens at the inner core connecting various other spaces.

Despite the space constraints and compact program, all the spaces were designed to experience openness with fewer walls thus achieving all the requirements of the client. The ground floor houses a living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining, store room and Poojai, while the first floor accommodates 2 bedrooms, family lounge with other functional spaces. and above comes a open terrace with raised perforated walls on both north and west side for a better closure to avoid privacy issues.

Above lies an extensive exploration of cone like projection, a skylight directly above the double height to bring in diffused natural light down the space and to experience the transition of space and time as a person walking throughout the day.As there were no enough setback spaces large size windows (6'x5' min dimension ) were proposed to generate ventilation that also provides an unobstructed view of the outdoors, which ultimately makes the room feel connected to the outside.
